Product Management in Dispatch allows you to maintain a product catalog, manage variants, and sync product data with e-commerce platforms.

Product Catalog

Overview

The product catalog stores:

  • Product information and descriptions
  • Pricing details
  • Dimensions and weights
  • Product variants
  • SKUs and identifiers

Accessing Products

Navigate to Products to:

  • View all products
  • Search and filter
  • Access product details
  • Manage variants

Viewing Products

Product List

The product list displays:

  • Product name and image
  • SKU/identifier
  • Price
  • Status
  • Variant count

Filtering and Sorting

Find products quickly:

Filter By

  • Product status (active, inactive)
  • Category
  • Price range
  • Has variants

Sort By

  • Name (alphabetical)
  • Date added
  • Price
  • SKU

Search products by:

  • Product name
  • SKU
  • Description
  • Barcode

Pagination

Navigate large catalogs:

  • Set page size (up to 100)
  • Move between pages
  • See total product count

Creating Products

Adding a Product

Create a new product:

  1. Click "Create Product"
  2. Enter product details:
    • Name
    • Description
    • SKU
    • Price
  3. Add dimensions and weight
  4. Upload images (optional)
  5. Save the product

Product Details

When creating, specify:

Basic Information

  • Product Name - Customer-facing name
  • Description - Product details
  • SKU - Stock keeping unit
  • Barcode - UPC/EAN if applicable

Physical Properties

  • Weight - Shipping weight
  • Dimensions - Length, width, height
  • Packaging type - How it's packaged

Pricing

  • Price - Selling price
  • Cost - Your cost (for tracking)

Managing Products

Viewing Product Details

Access complete product information:

  1. Click on any product
  2. View all details
  3. See variant information
  4. Access related orders

Editing Products

Update product information:

  1. Open product details
  2. Click "Edit"
  3. Modify fields
  4. Save changes

Product Status

Products can be:

  • Active - Available for orders
  • Inactive - Not available for orders
  • Draft - Being set up

Product Variants

What Are Variants?

Variants represent different versions of a product:

  • Different sizes
  • Different colors
  • Different materials
  • Different configurations

Creating Variants

Add variants to a product:

  1. Open product details
  2. Go to Variants section
  3. Click "Add Variant"
  4. Enter variant details:
    • Variant name
    • SKU
    • Price difference (if any)
    • Dimensions (if different)
  5. Save the variant

Managing Variants

View and manage product variants:

  • List all variants for a product
  • Edit variant details
  • Update variant pricing
  • Delete variants

Variant Details

Each variant can have:

  • Unique SKU
  • Specific dimensions/weight
  • Own pricing
  • Individual stock levels

Deleting Variants

Remove variants:

  1. Open the product
  2. Go to Variants
  3. Find the variant
  4. Click "Delete"
  5. Confirm removal

Product Settings

Business Product Settings

Configure product-related settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Products
  2. Update settings:
    • Default dimensions
    • SKU format
    • Pricing display
  3. Save changes

Settings Options

Available settings:

  • Auto-generate SKUs - Automatic SKU creation
  • Required fields - Which fields are mandatory
  • Default values - Pre-populate common values

Product Synchronization

E-commerce Integration

Sync products with online stores:

  • Import products from platforms
  • Keep data synchronized
  • Update across systems

Sync Configuration

Configure product sync:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Select e-commerce platform
  3. Enable product sync
  4. Configure field mapping

Mapping Fields

Map product fields between systems:

  • Product name
  • Description
  • SKU
  • Price
  • Dimensions

Sync Direction

Choose sync direction:

  • Import only - Products come into Dispatch
  • Export only - Products go to platform
  • Two-way - Sync in both directions

Using Products in Orders

Selecting Products

When creating orders:

  1. Add order items
  2. Select from product catalog
  3. Details auto-populate
  4. Adjust quantities

Product Data in Shipments

Product information flows to shipments:

  • Dimensions used for shipping
  • Weight for carrier selection
  • Description for documentation

Catalog Management

  1. Keep data accurate - Verify dimensions and weights
  2. Use consistent naming - Standard naming conventions
  3. Complete profiles - Fill in all product details
